Hoek van Holland

Going south towards Rotterdam you will find the beach of the Hoek van Holland. This 3.5 km sandy beach is a great place to relax and enjoy the view. Not so in the Second World War when the Germans used the beach as a line of defence. You can still see the German bunkers there even today. It only takes 30 minutes to get to the Hoek van Holland from Delft by car.

Scheveningen and Kijkduin

Scheveningen is the most popular seaside resort in the Netherlands. Scheveningen has a long boulevard with lots of cosy places to eat and (indoor) shops. On the famous Scheveningen Pier you can go on the Ferris wheel with its outstanding view of The Hague or go bungee jumping over the sea. Tram  1 will take you straight to the beach.

It is only a short walk from Scheveningen to Kijkduin. Kijkduin also has plenty of shops and beach cafes, but it is less crowded than Scheveningen. It only takes 30 minutes to get from Delft to Kijkduin by car.
