Evening Prayer (in English)

Join Us for Evening Prayer at the Old Catholic Church of Saint Mary and Saint Ursula in Delft

We are pleased to invite you to our first Evening Prayer service, which will take place this coming Sunday at the Old Catholic Church of Saint Mary and Saint Ursula in Delft. The service will be led in English by our Minister, Timon Idema.

This Sunday, we will reflect on the story of Jacob, the son of Isaac and grandson of Abraham. Jacob received the promises and blessings passed down from Abraham and Isaac, though his life was marked by dishonesty. However, God continued to strengthen his faith, eventually appearing to Jacob in the form of a man and wrestling with him, changing his name to “Israel,” which means “he struggles with God” (Genesis 32:22-32). Jacob’s story is significant as the father of the twelve tribes of Israel, through his wives Leah and Rachel, who bore him twelve sons.
